TST 507 TPMS Update
We have been using our TST 507 TPMS for several years and wanted to provide a long-term review update. We still love our TST but wanted to share a few things we’ve learned. In case you need it, here is our original TST 507 Tire Pressure Monitor Review.
We Like It
After using the TST 507 TPMS for three camping seasons, we really like it. The flow through sensors enable us to add air to the tires without having to remove them. The monitor has a clear display. For us, we like that the monitor separate from our phones and we didn’t have to install another app. As we have been packing for several camping trips, the TPMS alerted us to a tire with low pressure. It can be a helpful reminder to check before heading out.
The Battery Connection
To ensure a good signal between the tire sensors and the display, a repeater is needed. A common way to install the repeater is to connect it directly to the battery, tuck any excess cord into the battery box, and then Velcro the repeater to the side of the battery box.
This generally works well. However, over time, the battery terminal connectors can have issues. We’ve had to replace ours several times.
This season, we opted to coat the terminals using battery terminal & cable protector. This is a creme you can apply to cables to help prevent terminal corrosion. You can find it at any auto store. We had to ask for it as the small packets were kept behind the register. We’ll provide a future update on how well that worked.
We could disconnect the terminal connectors in between camping trips though that is a bit inconvenient. It would be nicer if there was a way to connect the repeater inside the storage compartment and have it power off when the battery disconnect is used. While the power draw from the repeater is small, that isn’t really the issue. A better solution would be to have the TPMS integrated into the overall RV power management system.
Sensor Batteries
One day as we were getting ready to leave, our TPMS didn’t provide information for two of our tires. The sensor at each tire has a battery. From what we have learned, these batteries last about two years and can be replaced fairly easily.
The batteries are CR1632. We found a set of four on Amazon. (link)
The steps to replacing the batteries are:
- Remove one sensor from the tire
- Use a small Philips screwdriver to open the battery compartment
- Remove and replace the 1632 battery
- Replace the battery compartment cover
- Replace the sensor back on the tire
- Repeat for the other three tires
- Turn on the monitor, wait for it to connect, and ensure there is a signal for each tire
We Wish RVs Came Prewired for the TST
One of our original observations for the TST TPMS was that we wish RVs came prewired for it like they do for Furrion backup cameras. We have noticed as we shop for a new travel trailer that some now advertise that they come prepped for TPMS. For example, Grand Design Imagine campers say they are prepped for the Tire Linc TPMS. It looks like there is a docking station wired into the storage compartment where the repeater can be easily inserted. That sounds promising. However, we love the flow-through sensors on the TST. It would be fantastic if the TPMS prep was a bit more flexible so that we could use our TST rather than the Tire Linc.
Long-term Review
After using the TST 507 TPMS for several years, we like it and are glad we made this safety equipment purchase. We highly recommend having some kind of tire pressure monitoring system for your camper.
We’d love to hear about your experiences with tire pressure monitoring systems. Which one do you like best? Has a TPMS saved the day for you? Leave us a comment and share your experiences with the community. Thanks.

Where to Buy a TST 507 Tire Pressure Monitoring System
For your convenience, here are links to find a TST 507 TPMS. Note that we are TechnoRV and Amazon affiliates. If you use these links, we’ll earn a small commission that helps us continue to provide you with helpful content.
TechnoRV
We found the information provided by Eric at TechnoRV to be very helpful. Eric and Tammy are RVers so it’s nice to know that they actually use the products that they are recommending. We liked their approach so much, we became TechnoRV affiliates. If you choose to purchase from them, it won’t cost you anything extra. However, we’ll earn a small commission that helps us continue to provide you with helpful content.
We recommend purchasing the TST 507 Flow Thru TPMS from TechnoRV.
Amazon
We understand the convenience of purchasing from Amazon. The TST Flow Thru System with 4 Sensors is available on Amazon.
You may also want to purchase battery terminal & cable protector. We purchased a single .14 ounce packet at an auto parts store. Amazon has the same product, but only in a pack of 25. AGS Battery Terminal & Cable Protector.
When we had to replace the sensor batteries, we found a four pack of Panasonic CR1632 batteries on Amazon.
