Cherry Hill

Cherry Hill

Cherry Hill is a campground and water park in Kayesville, UT, just North of Salt Lake City. I had the chance to stay here a few nights in July 2010. Looking for a good stopover between the Hoover Dam and Yellowstone, this looked like the perfect stop. Cherry Hill

As I researched a trip out West, I wasn’t sure where to stay on this segment. A little research on the Trailer Life forums brought Cherry Hill to my attention. It turned out to be one of my family’s favorite stops on a 10,000 mile cross-country tip. Wow!

The dragon-themed water slides were the favorite. As you slid down on a mat, a tunnel produced a mist that was the dragon’s breath. There was also a lazy river ride and a few others. The miniature golf course (putt-putt) was among the best I have seen. There are also batting cages, trampolines, and other attractions.

Next door is a pie restaurant with incredible fresh pie. I tried the apple and razzleberry and they were both fantastic.

As for camping, well, it isn’t really like a national park campground. You aren’t in the woods. But, it is very nice. There are paved pull-through sites that are level and can easily accommodate larger rigs. A bit close together but not too bad. Each provided a picnic table. The staff were all very friendly.

Overall, a nice relaxing place to park your camper for a few nights, especially if you have younger children along.
